MOSS POINT, Miss. – A student is dead after fight at Magnolia Middle School. The seventh grader, 12-year-old Lorel Malone, was sent to the hospital for his injuries Thursday afternoon. He was pounced dead Friday morning. 
The Moss Point police Department is assisting the Moss Point School District in the investigation.
“It’s very important that evidence is uncovered carefully and without prejudice,” said Moss Point Police Chief Keith Davis during a press conference Friday at the school.
Malone’s Mother Lakenisa Nobles also spoke at the press conference.
“My son Lorel was a sweet little boy. If you knew him you loved him. If you met him you would meet him again. He wasn’t a bully. He wasn’t a stranger to no one.”
