JACKSON, Miss. — A mixture of light freezing rain and sleet started to fall early Tuesday in portions of South Mississippi.
A huge swath of area, including Natchez to east of Brookhaven and as far south as Mccomb is under a Wintery Storm Advisory until noon. “The conditions aren’t such where we expect snow to fall,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Brad Bryant. “But we could get some impact in terms of slick spots on roadways, especially bridges and overpasses because the temperatures are so cold at the surfaces.”
The winter weather is expected to move out later Tuesday afternoon as temperatures warm above freezing. “But there is still gonna be some precipitation around. And by tomorrow night, we’ve got another disturbance that will bring some cold rain showers Wednesday night on into Thursday,” Bryant added.
