You’ll See Big Weather Changes Tonight, Wednesday

JACKSON, Miss.–You’re going to see some big weather changes Tuesday night and Wednesday as an Arctic cold front makes its way through the Magnolia State. Rain, maybe some sleet, and colder air will greet you Wednesday morning.

Expect most of the rain to move through in the overnight hours tonight, although there could be some scattered showers ahead of the front today.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Mike Edmunston said there could be some sleet in the north part of the state.

“The winds will be increasing and quite gusty,” he said. “Although we’re looking for temperatures to remain above freezing, we may see a mixture of some light sleet with the rain after 3 a.m. across the Hwy. 82 corridor.”

He said no accumulation was expected and rain would end early Wednesday.

You’ll see highs in the 30s north, Wednesday, and 40s central and south.

You’ll see lower 20s north Wednesday night and Thursday morning. It’ll be upper 20s central and south.
