Mississippi One of the Country’s Most Miserable States

JACKSON, Miss.–You live and work in one of the country’s most miserable states, according to a new Gallup poll. Mississippi ranks 48 in a survey of overall happiness, behind Kentucky and West Virginia.

The poll measured a number of factors that included employment, education, wealth, and well being.

States like Hawaii, Vermont, Colorado and Nebraska made the top ten happiest, with the over happiest state being North Dakota.

The survey concluded that states that are the least happy are where people were more likely to smoke, less likely to exercise, less likely to be employed or less likely to be able to pay their bills, and are less likely to have access to basic necessities.
