The Mississippi Department of Health is reporting 229 new cases of coronavirus in the state. There are 10 more victims of the virus bringing the state’s total number of deaths to 291.
Since March 1st, 7,441 people have tested positive for COVID-19.
If you are waiting for test results, it is essential to remain at home. Do not go to work or leave home. Stay in a specific room at home and avoid contact with other family members as much as possible. These steps are important to prevent the possible spread of disease.
Long-term care (LTC) facilities like nursing homes are considered high risk locations because their residents are older or in poor health. Even one case of COVID-19 in these facilities among residents or employees is considered an outbreak. Since March 11th, there have been 866 cases of coronavirus and 116 people have lost their lives to the virus in long-term care facilities.
