Today at 5 p.m., the gates will open and the 160th Mississippi State Fair will officially begin.
Held at the Mississippi Fairgrounds in downtown Jackson, the fair will run through October 14th with plenty of rides, food, music and much more.
“During the 13 days of the Mississippi State Fair, the 105 acre fairgrounds is transformed into an exciting amusement park filled with the most delicious fair food, carnival rides, games, shows and contests,” Mississippi Ag. Commissioner Andy Gipson said. “Spectators and participants can find excitement in numerous livestock shows and musical entertainment for all ages from headliner artists. Brand new this year is the addition of “the coolest event at the fair,” an indoor ice rink inside the Coliseum!”
