JACKSON, Miss. — The flu season is somewhat unusual here in Mississippi this year.
A lot of young people 20-40 years old appear to be getting hit hardest. “The best way to protect yourself is to get a flu vaccination,” said Dr. Paul Bayers, with the Mississippi Department of Health. “Most people who get it recover in a few days, but it can make you feel real bad.”
Symptoms of the flu include runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, headache, fever, cough and extreme fatigue.
