OXFORD, Miss. – An Ole Miss grad student has been murdered.
Lafayette County deputies found the body of Zacharias McClendon, 25, around 3 a.m. Wednesday on a road just outside the Oxford city limits. McClendon had been shot. The sheriff’s department is not releasing any other information at this time.
McClendon was a first year graduate student. Ole Miss said in a release, “the University family is shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Zach McClendon. We feel pain and loss any time one of our students is taken from us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends and we, as a University family, will do all that we can to support them.”
