An investigation by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics has led to an arrest.
MBN agents in North Mississippi arrested 76-year-old John Hall after they raided his floral shop and found that he was allegedly running an illegal pharmacy out of the building.
According to MBN Director John Dowdy, they found an “assortment of prescription drugs” inside of the shop on Young Avenue in Nettleton.
Hall now faces felony charges for the sale of tapentadol, a prescription opioid analgesic; felony possession with intent to sell or distribute soma, a prescription muscle relaxer; and a misdemeanor charge for practicing medicine without a license.
The Mississippi Board of Pharmacy, the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office assisted the MBN in the three-month investigation that led to Hall’s arrest.
“It is always good when agencies work together for the safety and welfare of our communities,” said Sheriff Jim Johnson.
Dowdy also stated that Hall could face additional charges as the investigation continues.
