Update:
The lockdown at the Mississippi University for Women has been lifted. They tweeted that there is no immediate threat to campus and to resume regular activities, but continue to be aware of your surroundings.
Original report:
The Mississippi University for Women is currently on lockdown following a shooting in front of Whitfield Hall.
The school tweeted that the suspect remains at large and law enforcement is conducting a building by building search.
The school will remain on lockdown until further notice and we will update with more information as it becomes available.
While campus remains locked down, a majority of students are not on campus because classes for the spring semester don’t begin until the 15th.
