18 month-old Dakota Hudson’s parents are wanting justice for their son after he was attacked by a four year-old child at Pooh and Crew, an at-home daycare in Pascagoula.
His mother said when she picked him up from the daycare last week, the owner was holding him and he had cream all over his face. The owner told the mother that she stepped away to light the fireplace and when she returned, Dakota was covered in blood and crying. He had been attacked by a four year-old child, who previously left another daycare due to similar behavior.
His mother then took him to a local hospital for treatment, where it was reported to the Health Department and the Department of Human Services.
In Mississippi, a business is required by law to become a licensed childcare facility if it cares for more than five kids, and Pooh and Crew had six kids.
The Health Department stated that they did not investigate due to the facility not being licensed, so it was up to the Department of Human Services, who ordered the business to shut down until they have a license.
Dakota’s parents posted on their Facebook page that they will be getting justice for their son, they want the daycare shut down and will be filing a suit. They asked Facebook friends to tag a lawyer in their post.
