Seven people were saved by the U.S. Coast Guard near Horn Island on the Mississippi Coast on Sunday.
Around 2:30 p.m., the watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector in Mobile were notified that a vessel had capsized approximately 4 miles east of Horn Island.
Sea Tow, an organization that specializes in boat rescues, was en route to assist, but they lost contact with the boat. Sector watchstanders then diverted a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Pascagoula to search for the vessel.
The crew arrived on the scene shortly after and located the vessel and all seven passengers were in the water.
The crew recovered the people from the water and transported them to Station Pascagoula.
