A third member of the Choctaw Indian tribe has pled guilty to charges related to a November murder case.
According to U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst, 21-year-old Keyshawn Willis, of Philadelphia, pled guilty to manslaughter charges in connection with the death of Demetrius Sam. Reports indicate that Sam was killed after he was beaten and eventually set on fire in the Tucker Community of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians near Philadelphia.
Willis becomes the third member of the tribe to plead guilty in the case after 33-year-old Jerome Steve and 26-year-old Keenan Martin entered their pleas earlier this week. Both Steve and Martin were charged with Second-Degree Murder.
All three will be sentenced in October, and Willis faces a possible 15-year sentence if convicted on the charge, while Steve and Martin could face life in prison.
