A kidnapping has ended with a baby girl’s death after an apparent murder/suicide in Sunflower County.
Officials with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office have confirmed that 34-year Lavonte Lloyd, of Madison, kidnapped one-year-old Kamya Lloyd from the mother’s home in Holmes and drove away. Police say that Lloyd traveled through Leflore and eventually stopped in Sunflower County.
While in Sunflower, Lloyd shot his daughter and eventually turned the gun on himself.
The investigation into this case is ongoing, and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting in this matter.
