The FBI has announced that two Moss Point men face drug trafficking charges.
The FBI Safe Streets Task Force arrested 41-year-old Thomas Earl Armstrong, and 28-year-old Demarkes Kwamane Williams on charges of Conspiracy and Possession With Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine.
The arrest took place back on May 7th, and both Armstrong and Williams were ordered to be detained until their trial date, which has been set for August 6th.
If convicted, Armstrong and Williams face maximum sentences of 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $1 million.
According to a news release from the FBI, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force is a ‘Gulf Coast High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area’ initiative and receives funding from the Office of National Drug Control Policy in Washington, D.C.
It is made up of Special Agents from the FBI and law enforcement officers from the Pascagoula, Moss Point, Gautier and Ocean Springs Police Departments, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Border Patrol. The South Mississippi Metropolitan Enforcement Team in Pascagoula assisted with the investigation.
