A Moss Point drug dealer has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Orlando Attivas Isom AKA “Boo Man”, pled guilty as a habitual offender to three counts of transfer of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
The Southern Mississippi Metro Enforcement Team utilized a confidential informant to purchase cocaine and methamphetamine from Isom in August of 2016. When 33-year-old Isom was apprehended on his arrest warrants in October of 2016, he was found to be in possession of cocaine and hydrocodone. At the time of his arrest, Isom had seven prior felony drug convictions.
Circuit Judge Dale Harkey sentenced Isom as follows:
Transfer of cocaine: 8 years to serve day for day (maximum penalty for 0.2 grams)
Transfer of Methamphetamine: 8 years to serve day for day (maximum penalty for 1.6 grams)
Transfer of cocaine: 40 years MDOC, 20 years to serve day for day, remainder suspended, 5 years Post Release Supervision (3.64 grams)
Possession of cocaine: 16 years to serve day for day (maximum penalty for 9.73 grams)
Possession of hydrocodone: 40 years MDOC, 20 years to serve day for day, remainder suspended, 5 years Post Release Supervision (21 dosage units)
In addition, Isom was ordered to pay all costs of court, $1500 lab fee, and $5000 fine
“This defendant is a classic example of the destruction drugs are producing in our community,” said District Attorney Tony Lawrence. “Because he sold drugs, other people developed addictions. I am hoping this twenty-year day for day sentence tells drug dealers enough is enough and we are not accepting your lawlessness.”
