COFFEEVILLE, Miss. – One man is dead and an officer is in the hospital after being shot four times. That is what happened after police responded to a domestic violence call Sunday in Coffeeville. Police say David Long, who is bound to a wheel chair, pulled out a handgun and started shooting at the officer who showed up. Long was killed, but the officer was struck several times. Right now he is receiving treatment at a Memphis hospital.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Coffeeville Police in the investigation.
