COLUMBUS, Miss.–Trying to lure an underage girl for sex-it might have been a habit for Kevin Smith of Lowndes County, who deputies originally arrested in September. The 30-year-old was arrested again this week.
Police say he used a cell phone to try to get a 15-year-old to have sex with him. They say after he tried it once and the investigation started, they discovered he may have tried it again with another girl.
He was still in jail Friday.
In New Albany Jon Cody Pannell faces time in the federal pen after pleading guilty this week to enticement of a child, which is basically the same thing. It was also a 15-year-old and he used the internet and a cell phone.
