JACKSON, Miss. – A Tupelo nurse is accused of stealing prescription pain pills from patients at the nursing and rehab center where she worked.
Jessica Chailland turned herself in to investigators with Attorney General Jim Hood’s office. She has been indicted on two counts of obtaining a controlled substance by means of fraud. Hood says she took two-dozen hydrocodone pills and one tablet of oxycodone that had been prescribed for patients and converted them to her own use.
Chailland is free on bond and no longer works at the Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in jail.
