Earlier this week, former 4-star LB Breon Dixon announced his plans to transfer from Ole Miss to Nebraska.

Dixon’s announcement comes as no surprise as he had previously stated that he felt that he had been misled regarding the NCAA’s investigation into the Ole Miss program.
“All respect to ole miss fans, and it’s been a pleasure being a rebel through the tough times, but I’ve made a decision with my family to transfer elsewhere as of today being misled about the sanctions coming in …” Dixon posted on Twitter.
Dixon was a UGA commit before announcing his commitment to Ole Miss during the 2016 Under Armour All-American Game. Ever since Dixon stepped onto the Ole Miss campus, there has been significant change included the departure of Hugh Freeze, the 2017 bowl ban and the further penalties announced by the NCAA back in December. The NCAA’s ruling includes a 2018 bowl ban, although the university is appealing that decision.
Dixon appeared in six games for Ole Miss in 2017, recording five tackles. Dixon joins a Nebraska squad that went 4-8 last season, but with the hiring of UCF head coach Scott Frost, there is seemingly a new energy surrounding the program.
The linebacker becomes the sixth player to transfer from Ole Miss since the bowl ban was handed down. The list now includes Dixon, QB Shea Patterson to Michigan, WR Van Jefferson to Florida, RB Jarrion Street to UAB, S Deontay Anderson to Houston, and WR Tre Nixon to UCF.
All transfers must now wait for the NCAA to make a decision on their eligibility for the 2018 season.
