An inmate in Hinds County was caught trying to bring contraband into the prison.
Major Pete Luke with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office stated that 23-year-old Terrence Paige attempted to escape through the roof of Raymond Detention Center.
He also tried to retrieve two separate packages which he would’ve then brought into the correctional facility. The packages containing an assortment of drugs, cell phones, chargers and liquor were recovered by officers.
Paige will be charged with escape and conspiracy to introduce contraband into a correctional facility.
Paige received cuts to his hand as he got tangled in the razor wire surrounding the fence before investigators were able to capture him.
