JACKSON, Miss.–In a what appears to be a full dose of irony, the city of Jackson had one of their Jatran public transit buses stolen on National Night Out Against Crime.
A Jackson city spokesman tells the Clarion Ledger the bus was taken back to headquarters on Terry Road Tuesday evening after its shift but was later found abandoned on Clifton Street.
It’s not clear how the driver obtained the key,s but the smashed fence into the street that people have seen on Facebook shows it’s pretty clear whoever it was just trucked right over the fence and drove into the night.
The National Night Out Against Crime is pretty self-explanatory and communities were suppose to have come together to fight crime; most just didn’t think it would be a city bus barreling through its enclosure.
The investigation into how it happened is still ongoing.
