Alan Godfrey, Executive Director of the Gaming Commission said that Gaming in Mississippi is down for 2017.
He said that the Northern and Central parts of the state are the main areas where the numbers are down.
Godfrey said that he attributes the loss of revenue to the overall expansion and accessibility of gaming. He added that if there are no changes to the laws of gaming in Mississippi, namely the implementation of a lottery, he doesn’t think that there would be much change in the overall numbers.
