GULFPORT, Miss.–Water from the men’s toilet in the Harrison County courthouse in Gulfport flooded the tax collectors office there over the weekend, leaving behind a mess that was still being cleaned up Tuesday.
Courthouse workers were using large fans to help dry up the water.
Several other offices in the building were also flooded, but the tax collector’s office took on the most water. Some estimated an inch and a half to two inches in some places.
There were several sets of records and receipts that were destroyed.
The tax collector’s office was still closed Monday, but other offices were able to reopen.
