Rain is Back for Tuesday, Five Tornadoes This Weekend

NATCHEZ, Miss.–At least five tornadoes touched down this weekend, Friday night and early Saturday, as a weather system moved through Mississippi. That system dumped heavy rain and left damage in its wake.

A tornado rated EF2, with winds at over 110 mph, demolished the home of state Sen. Melanie Sojourner in Adams County. She was not homeat the time. That twister hit about 11:30 Friday night and was the most significant of the five.

There were smaller twisters that also hit in Adams County, Smith and Rankin. Those were rated anywhere from EF0 to EF1.

Once that system moved through, tempe dropped and today you’ll see highs in the mid to upper 80s. Those highs are expected to ba about the same all week.

Another weather system is set to bring rain again Tuesday. Wednesday you can expect partly sunny skies again.
