A federal judge says a Mississippi Doctor must pay $1.3 Million dollars after he bribed state prison boss chris epps into giving him contracts with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Dr. Carl Reddix previously argued that the amount of money was too great and said that it violated his constitutional right to not have excessive fines placed upon him.

However, the judge said that since Reddix owns half of the company that received 2.5 million dollars in benefits from the Mississippi Department of Corrections, he must forfeit over half of the company’s worth.

Previously, Epps acknowledged accepting more than $1.4 million in bribes from various private contractors and is currently serving a nearly 20-year prison sentence.
