On Sunday night, the Gulfport Police Department arrested 30-year old Christopher Powell III on multiple counts of armed robbery.
At 7:50 p.m., officers responded to a call at a Circle K located in the 10000 block of Lorraine Road. Upon arrival, officers learned that a white male suspect implied that he had a weapon and then demanded cash before fleeing the scene.
While officers didn’t arrive in time to catch Powell the first time around, they would get another chance.
At 8:04, the department received another armed robbery call on Lorraine Road, this time at Stuckey’s. Officers arrived and were told once again of a suspect implying he was armed and demanding money before fleeing.
Powell didn’t make it to far, and was arrested by Gulfport Police after investigating the two scenes. Powell was arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery. He was taken to Harrison County Adult Detention Facility, where he is now being held on a $300,000 bond, $150,000 per charge.
