Late Saturday night, Hattiesburg Police responded to the scene where a driver struck one male and one female pedestrian at the intersection of Hwy 49 and I-59.
After investigating the scene, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle, Justin Williamson. Williamson was charged with DUI Negligence of Driver Resulting in Death.
Both victims were transported to Forrest General Hospital. The male victim was unable to recover and passed away as a result of the accident. The female victim was listed in critical condition.
