Several Lowndes County Jailers are facing disciplinary actions after letting a prisoner escape earlier this month.

Lowndes County Sheriff Mike Arledge said that some of the jailers have been severely disciplined for their actions that led to the escape of a prisoner on September 2nd.

Arledge added that they have completed their investigation, however, he said that they will continue to monitor the jailers’ job performance.

The Prisoner, 29-year old Delvin Moore was in a temporary cell without a toilet and sneaked some paper towels or toilet paper back in with him when he was escorted to a toilet.

When the guards opened a door to release another inmate, Moore opened the door to his cell and dashed past the guards and out the front doors directly behind the other inmate.

Moore has yet to be brought back into custody. There is still a $4,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
