The Mississippi Grammy Museum in Cleveland is educating people from all over about what the Magnolia state has contributed to the music scene.
They have a little something for everyone, according to Jakezius Dye with the Mississippi Grammy Museum.
“The museum is self guided,” said Dye. “We have a dance floor, a roller room… and also we have a soundstage, and a small movie theater where you can watch a video about great Grammy performances.”
The museum also boasts frequent events to attract people to the area.
The Museum’s Recording Academy is hosting a Blues @ HOME: Mississippi’s Living Blues Legends event Friday, August 25th from 6pm-8pm.
The event will host a book signing, craft beer tasting, art on display, a live blues performance and more. There’s also a panel discussion beginning at 7:00 with Artist H.C. Porter and special guests, Lauchlin Fields, Eden Brent, Alphonso Sanders, & Kenny Brown.

The experience doesn’t end there, however, as next weekend the Grammy Museum kicks off a weekend of events for the whole family.
Family Boogie Day is Saturday, September 2 from 10am to 2pm. There will be live music from Jake & the Pearl Street Jumpers, art activities, a drumming workshop with Delta Arts Alliance, and the Gibson Guitar bus on site for guests to tour.
Two new exhibits will also open to the public: John Lee Hooker: King of the Boogie & Celebrating the Musical Legacy of Michael Jackson.
You’ll be able to attend this event for just $5, and museum members get in free.
