MIAMI, Fla.–Tropical Storm Humberto formed early Monday in the Atlantic and is expected to remain there for several days as it becomes a hurricane. That could happen as early as Wednesday.
News Mississippi tracks any storm that has the potential to enter the Gulf of Mexico and affect the Magnolia State.
Humberto was expected to affect the Cape Verde islands first, with tropical storm warnings in effect Monday.
As of Monday morning forecasters were still developing a projected track for the storm, which they said does have a good potential for continued development. Max winds were at 40 mph.
