JACKSON, Miss. — Kids being sexually exploited is not a secret you should keep, but apparently some people do.
“One out of four presentations we do, there is someone in the audience who has information related to suspected child sexual exploitation,” said John Shehad, executive director of the Exploited Child Division of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
“You have to be a part of the solution and report it,” he said. “Cause often times, it’s not just one victim. They have multiple victims.”
The best way to break the cycle he says, is by filing a report at cybertipline.org. “You don’t have to leav your name. You don’t’ have to leave your contact information. Every tip is taken seriously.”
Shehad says those reports are shared with several agencies to investigate, including the FBI and the Mississippi Attorney General’s office.
