The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed a deputy was shot on East Jordan Road on Friday.
Officials are still looking for a suspect.
Deputies with the Sheriff’s Department tells News Mississippi that they’re looking for a suspect described as a middle-aged white man, dark hair, driving an older model pickup.
The unnamed deputy was airlifted to USA Hospital in Mobile but the extent of the injuries is unknown at the time. It happened at East Jordan Road, just off high 605 South of 67. 605 at East Jordan is closed in both directions.
