The McComb City Council is set to meet Tuesday night for the first time since the controversial vote that resulted in the state flag being lowered on all city-owned properties.

In the last meeting, Selectmen Donovan Hill and Albert Eubanks raised a motion to put the state flag vote on the agenda, remove the chair, and move the flag vote to the beginning of the agenda. This forced the vote before selectmen Michael Cameron and Tommy McKenzie could arrive at the meeting. Both were running late.
In the past, the removal of the flag had been voted on in previous board meetings, with each vote resulting in a 3-3 tie, with the Mayor voting “nay” to break the ties on both issues.
This time it passed 3-1.
Selectmen Eubanks, Donovan Hill and Ronnie Brock voted for the measure, with selectmen Ted Tullos voting against.
At Tuesday’s meeting, several people are on the agenda to speak on the flag issue, and a revote is possible. News Mississippi correspondent Dave Hughes will be there to report.
