WINONA, Miss.–It’s 30 years in prison for Christopher Lamar Miller of Montgomery County in multiple molestation cases. Miller is a former volunteer with children. Several of his abuse victims came forward, spurring an investigation earlier this year.
He pleaded guilty this week. The court case was handled in Attala County.
The children were from Webster, Carroll and Montgomery counties. In Montgomery County alone, the 39-year-old faced 17 counts of molestation. It is still not clear just how many victims there were. Prosecutors rolled all the cases together in one plea deal.
Miller has to serve his sentence day for day and will not get credit for good behavior because of the heinous nature of his crimes.
It’s 20 years behind bars for Robert Gardner of Tupelo, who pleaded guilty this week to sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 16 and exposing her to HIV.
Gardner got 15 years in that case, but was already out on probation for the same crime in 2010. That probation was revoked and that’s why Gardner has an additional five years.
On the Choctaw Indian reservation, Cedric Tubby, 22, of Louisville, will spend 18 months in prison for sexual abuse of a girl under 14. He’s also got to serve five years on probations, and as all the others sentenced this week, will be a registered sex offender.
He pleaded guilty this week in federal court in Aberdeen for his crimes in the Crystal Ridge community in 2011.
