TIPPAH COUNTY, Miss.–A wreck caused when a car stopped in the middle of the highway is now being probed by the Miss. Highway Patrol. A state trooper was involved.
The Dept. of Public Safety has not released the name of the trooper, but WCBI reports an accident reconstruction crew will come to the accident scene on Hwy. 15, north of Ripley. The wreck happened about 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The TV station says witnesses on the scene told them a car stopped suddenly and the two cars behind it crashed into it and each other, a chain reaction.
The trooper was not hurt, but the other two drivers had minor injuries. It was unclear what position the trooper had in the chain reaction pile-up.
