Sons Donald Jr. and Eric have announced that the Trump franchise will be expanding to the Magnolia State as part of it’s “American Idea” chain of mid-market hotels.
According the Fox News there are four locations already set for Mississippi in what they’re calling the heart of Trump country.
Trump’s adult sons say they got the idea while traveling on the campaign trail with their father. The first of the Scion line hotels will open in Cleveland. The following hotels will be on the Gulf Coast, Clarksdale and Greenville, all of which will be under the American Idea marketing model.
The projects are the first new ventures the company has begun since Trump began his term as President. He has met some controversy from ethics advisers due to his decision to remain in ownership of the company.
The deals are all franchise agreements and will be run by a family owned firm headed by Indian-American brothers Dinesh and Suresh Chawla.
The hotels will be priced lower than the luxury brand Trump is known for. They will offer rates to working-class Mississippians.
