COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. – Police have found Christopher Smith. He’s the man suspected of killing the mother of his son earlier this week.
Smith is charged with murder in the death of Nikisa Benson. She was shot and killed on her way home Tuesday night just east of Hazlehurst. Police found Smith in Meridian and arrested him without incident. The couple’s 6-year-old son is now in the care of other family members.
