If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, there’s plenty on the docket for Mississippi.
In Natchez, it’s the Natchez Festival of Music. This is the 27th annual festival and it presents a widely diverse slate of musical events with everything from blues, gospel, and jazz to rock and roll, country and classical.
And to honor those who have contributed to Mississippi’s music history, head to Southaven for the annual Mississippi Music Awards. It’s a red carpet event presenting a lifetime achievement award to Jerry Lee Lewis, with performances by the 7 time Emmy winner David L. Cook, Aaron Coker Band, Truck Patch Revival and more. Proceeds benefit the Mississippi Youth Chamber Orchestra.
For a look at the sophistication and elegance of Mississippi, join the Pass Christian Historical Society for the 39th Annual Home Tour and Garden Party. Homes designed by Barry Fox stand tall over the oaks overlooking the Gulf.
