MADISON, Miss. — A body found Tuesday in a wooded area near an elementary school has turned out to be missing teen Abigail Bonner, confirmed Coroner Alex Breland Wednesday.
Bonner was last seen earlier this month. She was reported missing Aug. 3. An officer out jogging found the body in the woods and it was sent for an autopsy and ID. Breeland told News Mississippi Wednesday there were no obvious signs of foul play.
The family had been holding out hope that she would be found alive and had thought at one point that she might be in the New York City or New Jersey area.
There was no speculation on exactly what killed her and Breland said the final word may take a while.
