The American Society of Civil Engineers released a report card of how states ranked in regards to road conditions.
You might be surprised to find out that Mississippi wasn’t even in the top five.
States were evaluated by percentage on how poor the road conditions are. Mississippi was listed as number eight, with 28 percent of the roads being unsuitable.

The ASCE estimates that the average driver will rack up close to $864 a year in vehicle costs when it comes to driving on the states roads. Overall the U.S. was given a “D” or “must do better” grade on road conditions.
