A Vicksburg man was arrested and charged with one count of child exploitation.
Attorney General Jim Hood announced that William Eugene Wicker Jr., 39, was arrested at his home on Tuesday by investigators with the Cyber Crime Unit with assistance from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
A search warrant was executed for the investigation of Wicker’s online activity. Based on what they found, an arrest was made.
He has been booked at the Warren County Jail, but no bond has been set. If convicted, he could face 40 years in prison and a $500,000 fine. However, the AG’s office would like to reiterate that a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The case will be prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorney General Brandon Obgurn.
