Representative Charles Busby, R-Pascagoula, and chairman of the House Transportation Committee, sent a clear message to his colleagues in the senate by tabling bills that would name roads after their constituents.
His move came exactly one day after Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves killed a bill that would have created an internet sales tax. The tax would have gone to funding much-needed infrastructure repair throughout the state.
Busby said naming any of Mississippi’s dilapidated roads for a person would not, in fact, be an honor to them.
