LEXINGTON, MISS– A well-known Lexington barber was murdered this weekend, and police have arrested the man they believe is responsible.
55 year-old Wilson Jones was arrested and charged for the murder of 80 year-old Billy Ziegler.
Ziegler’s nephew Bobby Williamson tells News Mississippi that Jones was a long time friend of the family.
“He had been a barber for over 50 years in Lexington,” said Williamson. “And he still cut hair every day.”
Williamson said the murder weapon was found and that Jones confessed to the crime. Williamson also said there were pictures of Jones leaving the home.
“I saw the pictures,” he said. “They were pretty clear.”
Mississippi Bureau of Investigation spokesperson Warren Strain said that the investigation was progressing as it should.
The Holmes County Sheriff’s Department is assisting the Lexington Police Department with this case.
