MENDENHALL, Miss.- An inmate at the Simpson County jail has been pronounced dead.
According to local media 35-year-old Herman Lindsey was found in his cell unresponsive on Tuesday morning. Paramedics were called by a nurse, but he was pronounced dead once they arrived.
Lindsey had been in jail since New Years after an arrest for drug charges.
Officials do not suspect foul play, but his body was sent to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
