OXFORD, Miss.- If you plan on visiting The Square in Oxford, you better bring some change for the meter.
According to local media, the Oxford Board of Aldermen approved increasing times for paid parking. The new regulations would require payment from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
Previously, payment was only required through 10 p.m. on those days.
The change will go into effect on Jan. 5.
Sunday parking will still be free, as well as most state and national holidays.
Meter prices will also change. Instead of $1.00 for an hour, it will now be $1.25 per hour. Smaller increments will still be allowed if a parking space is only required for a few minutes.
That price increase will go into effect on Jan. 1.
