GREENVILLE, Miss.- The Greenville School District Superintendent Leeson Taylor has been terminated from his position. The decision was made by the School Board at a Tuesday meeting.
Taylor was presented with a termination letter, according to local media. Attorney, Brandon Dorsey said he isn’t sure when the actual letter was sent.
Taylor is attempting to appeal the decision and Dorsey said that the board will notify him of their decision within 10 days.
The former superintendent has been on paid leave since Oct. 13 after videos surfaced of a teacher pulling the hair of a special needs student at the high school. That teacher has since been fired and charged with a misdemeanor. She could also lose her teaching license.
