FLOWOOD, MISS– One day after the sentencing of former Mississippi Department of Corrections Commissioner Christopher Epps was put off until May, he was arrested and charged with burglary charges.
According to multiple media reports, Epps was spotted entering his former home in Flowood, which was seized by the federal government during the investigation regarding bribery and kickback schemes related to his role as MDOC commissioner. Epps pleaded guilty to those schemes in 2015 and faces up to 23 years in prison, plus forfeiting $1.7 million in assets.
