JACKSON, MISS– The suspect in the Jackson State University block party shooting has been in court, with bond set at $300,000.
Ryan Davis turned himself Wednesday after Jackson Police named him as a suspect.

Jackson Police released the identity of the suspect in Friday night’s shooting at a Jackson State University block party that ended with six people shot and multiple injured.

“Very early on in the investigation, we have several tips that came in that suggested this suspect,” Commander Tyree Jones of the Jackson Police Department told News Mississippi. “He’s been charged with six counts of aggravated assault.”
Commander Jones said the force is happy to have a break in the case.
“We’re fortunate to have some warrants issued,” said Commander Jones. “And we look forward to prosecuting this individual for this heinous act.”
The shooting happened around midnight Friday on Lorenz street in the Capital City. The six victims were taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment and are in stable condition, according to Jackson Police.
JPD is still seeking the public’s help locate the suspected shooter.
