JACKSON, MISS– 13 people have been indicted in two separate drug distribution cases that spanned across multiple states, according to United States Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi Gregory K. Davis.
In the first multi-count case, five people were indicted on charges of conspiracy and intent to distribute cocaine powder and cocaine base, commonly known as crack:
- Charlie Lee Martin, 53, of Jackson is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 280 grams or more of cocaine base and to posses with intent to distribute cocaine powder, as well as possession and intent to distribute 280 grams of cocaine base and cocaine powder. Martin could face life in prison and a $21 million dollar fine.
- Derek D. Moseley 48, of Houston, Texas is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 280 grams or more of cocaine base and to possess with intent to distribute cocaine powder, as well as one count of possession with intent to distribute the substances. Moseley faces life in prison and a $21 million dollar fine.
- L.C. Hatfield, Jr., 42, of Jackson is charged with one count of conspiracy to posses with intent to distribute 280 grams of cocaine base and cocaine powder, as well as possession with intent to sell the substances. Hatfield faces life in prison and a $27 million dollar fine.
- Richard Williams, 44, of Forest, is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine base. Williams is also charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine base. He faces 40 years in prison and a $1 million dollar fine.
- Deontha White, 28 of West Point, is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams of cocaine powder and cocaine base, as well as possession with intent to distribute. White faces 80 years in prison and a $10 million dollar fine.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and were assisted by local and other state agencies.
Another investigation revolved around a multi-state operation with the intent of moving meth across the country. Eight people were indicted in this case.
- Allen Sims, 39, of Jackson is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine, and more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine, and one count of possession with intent to distribute the substances.
- Keith Mullen, 45, is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine.
- Vincent Taylor McGee, 29, of Raymond, is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine, and one count of possession with the intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine.
- Armando Arrellano Delgado, 39, of Palmetto, Florida, is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine and more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine, one count of possession with the intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine and more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine.
- Jose Pacheco, 39, of Jackson is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine and more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine, as well as one count of possession with the intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine.
- Daniel Tejeda, 35, of Norcross, Georgia, is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine, and one count of possession with the intent to distribute more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine.
- Juan Dunfrund, 41 of Victorville, California, is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 50 grams or more of actual methamphetamine, and one count of possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine.
- Jerry Lewis, 39, of Jackson, is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine, and one count of possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine.
This case is scheduled for trial November 8. If convicted, the defendants face life in prison and a $10 million dollar fine per count.
